For safety purposes and by law in most states, you need one CO alarm for each level of your house. Quantum recommends that in addition to one on each level you place one CO alarm in each sleeping area and one in your garage. If you sleep with your bedroom doors closed then you need one for each bedroom because the alarm may not wake you through a closed door according to a study first done in Australia.
The COSTAR® CO detector and CO alarm comes already calibrated from the factory and doesn’t require any adjustments.
All household members should immediately go outside to breathe fresh air and you should call 911.

The sensor is good for the lifetime of the CO alarm (6 years) and you should never touch it or attempt to replace or repair it in COSTAR® brand products.
